Isn't it possible that people shun the Mormon faith since they know nothing about it?

I feel that it is. I feel that our glorious God is calling me to steer you folks in the right direction. Please, just keep an open mind and heart and I can guarantee that you will be touched by the teachings of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Dont be afraid.
