Gerd is not typically accompanied by stabbing pains or hurting when you move, so it is possible that you have 2 unrelated conditions. The Gerd (gastrointestinal reflux disease) and you may also have costochondritis, a pulled or torn muscle on your rib cage or in your chest area, which would explain why it hurts when you move. For the Gerd, try drinking aloe juice. For the costochondritis, you'll need to rest to give the muscle tears a chance to heal. Take an anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen for the pain.
